FGX Belt Drive Conversion using 38t gear diff for Sakura XI, Sakura D3 15t Pulley & Shaft parts, rear belts,  and spur gear holder.

1. Cut the stock rear bulkhead cover to make the clearance from the gear diff.

2. Cut and drill 3mm hole on D3 bearing holder (center part in the part tree), must be the same position on both holders

3. Remove the rear upper arm and put set screw to the first hole of rear bulkhead.

4. Twist down the D3 bearing holder to the set screw on the rear bulkhead .

5. Put Graphite piece for rear upper linkage in stead of using stock rear upper a arm.

6. Cut Aluminum rear bulkhead and put it reverse, and move the shock mount back  about 10mm.

7. Put 2mm shims behind the spur gear holder to get the clearance from the motor mount.

Reverse the rear shock cantilevers and remount the rear shocks, and I might have room to install a small nitro engine.  Hmmm........

Panda .
Sean - your car was quick and quiet running against you this afternoon. I kept forgetting it was an FGX. I did not know you were a part time engineer as well as a programmer. I think you have too much time on your hands at the shop lately.  -))

Hi, I have spent the weekend putting this together.....well almost. What bearings did you use in the D3 , the lay shaft seems to short and how did you fix the D3 to the engine mount
There are some issues with this.....maybe show construction pics please

The bearing size is 4x8x3 http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/product_view.asp?p_id=2746">.

Lay shaft is short, it barely touches the bearings, but it didn't have any issues so far.

Thanks.

On the photos it looks like that the bearing housing just lies on the bulkhead. the bulkhead cover is cut. Please post in some step by step production pics. It is very difficult to see how the bearing housing is fixed. on the bulkhead. The rest looks very easy and really makes sense.
Thanks. Best Regards Robby

First, I put set screw to the under bulkhead, made a hole to D3 bearing housing and twisted it down to the set screw on the under bulkead.

Thanks.

Hi a question. From where does the hole in the bulkhead? From below? We want to see if it is possible in a photograph that screw us. Since it does not appear in his photographs.

The bulkhead already has the hole for stock rear upper arm, I put set screw into the hole.
